22:46, Raptorjedi> I saw Mister Mosquito at EBGames once, I'm sure I will never see that again.
22:49, Chad> Mister Mosquito was fun.
23:22, Zjc92> i always wanted to play it, but I can't find a copy.
23:29, Ouch> you do know compusa went out of buisness right?
23:31, Ouch> EBgames here caries 2 shelfs of PC games... that's right, the local dollar store has a larger game selection.
23:32, Ouch> in fact the local hardware store probably has more room designing software titles than EBgames or even gamestop
23:32, Ouch> total software titles that is...
00:48, Hello! :)> I find game store outlets tend to only carry console games, only a "main" store carries non-console games.
01:15, Chad> Yeah, they might only carry the latest and greatest games. I think EBGames is the only one with a large selection, sorta.
01:15, Raptorjedi> My EBGames only has a small rack of PC games, and it has like 30 copies of maybe five titles. It's horrible at having non-consoles. They used to have a whole wall of PC games.
01:17, Raptorjedi> Once I found Master of Orion 2 back when it was a whole wall of games. I'm pretty sure that hasn't been seen very often in a store in the last ten years :P
01:18, Chad> To many games and not enough wall space. They always pick the smallest places too.
01:19, Raptorjedi> The one closest to me had the wall space. I've been in there since they converted it, and there is actually a WASTE of space where there were once PC games. I think now it's covered with an ad and a few Xbox controllers.
01:19, Raptorjedi> And not like a "Check out this new game" ad, but a "Buy our Xbox controllers" ad.
01:20, Chad> Don't forget the batteries!
01:20, Raptorjedi> Makes me want to start my own game store sometimes :P
01:21, Chad> I was looking into it. Found a couple franchises that look a lot better then the ones I've seen around.
01:23, Raptorjedi> I wish there were some Fry's over here.
01:23, Chad> http://playntrade.com/franchise/ - Never seen these before but it looks better then GameStop. :P
01:24, Raptorjedi> Well I was thinking more of a mom and pop type thing, my own store, my own name, all that stuff.
01:25, Chad> That would be really difficult though... Unless your a millionaire of course.
01:26, Raptorjedi> I doubt it would cost that much, but yeah, it would be difficult.
01:30, Raptorjedi> It's just one of those "If I had the money" dreams :P
01:51, Duskesko> major in business and you might make it
01:53, Raptorjedi> Yeah, I don't want to do that. That would be mind numbingly boring. :P
02:54, Duskesko> Yea, not like you want to get awesome skills that can make you rich.
02:56, Raptorjedi> I want to do something that I enjoy, not because it will make me money.
02:57, Raptorjedi> I've never really cared for money. I mean sure, it buys me video games and books and things, but I don't need all that much of it :P
02:57, Raptorjedi> If I had a lot, there are things I would do with it, but I don't need it.
03:14, Duskesko> Then what do you enjoy doing that you could do for money?
03:14, Duskesko> Also, business majors become managers who shout orders.
03:15, Raptorjedi> I want to be a paleontologist :P
03:19, Raptorjedi> I know full well that I won't make much money off of it. Maybe more than my dad does sure, but it would be fun.
03:29, Chad> Money isn't the key to happiness. More money equals more problems.
03:35, Tom> I don't think that money always means more problems. Beyond a certain point, sure, it's possible to have too much of anything.
03:35, Tom> But if someone were to give me, say, $500 right now, I'd be happy...I need a new hard drive and a new amp.
03:53, Chad> I think they are running out of Pokemon game names.
03:53, Raptorjedi> GTA IV in 7 minutes on the East Coast
03:54, Chad> I need to run down and get it NOW! :P I might miss something, like the game might change if I wait.
03:55, Chad> It might suck if I have to wait about 20 hours until I get it.
03:55, Raptorjedi> Yeah, sometime in the next hour they might decide to recall them all and replace the guns with flowers and still have it out in time for everyone to not freak the fuck out over not having it :P
03:57, Chad is tired of seeing GTAIV stuff everywhere.
03:58, Raptorjedi> Define everywhere
03:58, Raptorjedi> If there are ads on your bus stop shelter things, better go steal one before Jack Thompson has them torn down :P
03:59, Chad> Its on TV cause it causes kids to become gangsters. Its on every gaming blog, news site and whatever too and videos keep poping up like bunnies.
03:59, Chad> Get of my interwebs!
03:59, Chad meant: off
04:00, Raptorjedi> The game is expected to beat out Halo 3 in terms of sales, of course it will be everywhere :P
04:01, Chad> Its just a killing simulation. All kids are learning is how to get a hooker then kill her/him and take your money back. :P
04:01, Raptorjedi> Best way to do it. :P
04:01, Chad> No witnesses.
04:03, Raptorjedi> My opinion on the whole thing: They know it will make a lot of money and they are just throwing a hissy fit because they won't get any :P
04:03, Chad> They just want some air time and maybe a book deal.
04:04, Raptorjedi> That too.
04:05, Chad> I wanna go on Opera! GTA Ruined my marriage!
04:05, Raptorjedi> I could get air time and a book deal by running to my local news and telling them about how Grand Theft Auto made my non-existant seven year old cousin threw a rock at an old person because of GTA.
04:06, Chad> It wasn't GTA that did that, it was Cryo. He is a bad, bad person.
04:06, Cryoburner> Opera, or Oprah? :P
04:06, Raptorjedi> Both!
04:06, Chad> I'm making a Opera on GTA! I'll be awesome!
04:06, Raptorjedi> Opera to reach the fat, rich old people who don't watch Oprah :P
04:07, Cryoburner> Doesn't GTA already have an Opera radio station?
04:08, Chad> Maybe, you can listen to the stations on there official site.
04:09, Chad> I love the soundtrack.
04:11, Raptorjedi> They still haven't released much of what is on it.
04:11, Raptorjedi> I know they have talked about one or two songs for each station, that I know of anyway.
04:12, Chad> http://libertycityradio.net
04:12, Chad> Some stations, not all. Mostly samples.
04:13, Raptorjedi> Only six of them, with one song each, and aside from LCHC I wouldn't listen to any of them :P
04:14, Raptorjedi> I'll probably listen to that and Liberty Rock Radio
04:15, Chad> http://playfire.com - Gaming MySpace thingy, still in beta - If anyone wants a invite let me know, only have 5 for now.
04:17, Chad> Can't really see much if your not a part of it... :P
04:18, Cryoburner> I just watched that HD video at the Flare Facade site.
04:19, Cryoburner> It looks pretty cool, but that can't be very energy efficient.
04:21, Duskesko> I don't think it takes much energy
04:21, Duskesko> its just a bunch of pneumatic cylinders that barely take any pressure to tilt those things
04:21, Cryoburner> That building is constantly pumping around 1500 hydralics. :P
04:22, Duskesko> pneumatics
04:22, Duskesko> and it doesnt take much pressure to tilt them
04:23, Duskesko> one air compressor could do them all
04:24, Cryoburner> How big of an air compressor are we talking about here? :P
04:26, Chad> They probably have one for each row on that building, most likely a large one too.
04:30, Cryoburner> "Due to the developed pattern, an infinite array of flakes can be mounted on any building or wall surface in a modular system of multiplied FLARE units."
04:31, Cryoburner> Wouldn't having an infinite array of flakes on your building be a little excessive? :)
04:31, Duskesko> NEVER!
04:31, Chad> They should cover the Empire State Builing in them.
04:32, Duskesko> I suppose that would mean we were always expanding our business.
04:32, Duskesko> Hmm, I need a piece of guitar wire
04:34, Cryoburner> Welcome to Ifinicorp! To enter our building, please follow your guide through the flare forest. You should arrive at your destination in one to two two days.
05:10, Chad> This games kicking my butt.
05:49, Tom> In another exciting episode of "Tom's Journalistic Spelling Pedantry Show," I just saw a New York Times article that spelled "diligent" with two 'l's.
05:51, Tom> I should get my own cable channel.
05:51, Trad.a> End of world, maybe time.
05:52, Cryoburner> The New York Times doesn't even get the content of their articles right half the time though. :P
05:53, Chad> Whoever gets it out first is the winner, screw the little things like spell checking and source checking.
05:53, Cryoburner> Awesome... http://www.dilligentsolutions.com
05:55, Chad> Grrreat!
05:57, Chad hopes he wins the GTAIV giveaway thingy... Free stuff! :P
05:58, Chad never wins anything... :(
05:59, Cryoburner> That's because Chad is a loser.
05:59, Chad> Yeah... I always lose.
06:00, Tom> Well, but facts are nebulous, whereas with spelling you can just check a dictionary, so there's really no excuse there.
06:00, Cryoburner presents Chad with the award for Loser of the Year, along with a one year supply of jam.
06:00, Tom> Winners are diligent. Losers are "dilligent".
06:02, Chad> Mmm... jam....
06:03, Cryoburner> Poor Dilligent Solutions. : (
06:03, Cryoburner> "RECENT NEWS Apr. 2 , 2007 We are no longer accepting new clients at this time."
06:03, Tom> I can only hope that it was started by someone named John Dilligent or something.
06:04, Chad> Thats what they get for crappy sites.
06:05, Chad> Work tomorrow! YAY!
06:05, Cryoburner> Or maybe it was meant to bring in traffic from people looking for Diligent Technologies. :) http://www.diligent.com
06:06, Cryoburner> You should call in sick and play GTA all day.
06:07, Chad> Thats okay... I had today off. Plus GTA can wait.
06:08, Chad> Sweet... Got a nice check coming this Friday... Monies!
06:08, Cryoburner whispers: Then when you go back to work the next day, you can honestly tell them that you got drunk and ran over scores of pedestrians. :P
06:10, Chad wants to try the new Bikes in Burnout:Paradise....
06:12, Cryoburner does not.
06:13, Chad> Don't want to see a person explode? :P
06:15, Cryoburner> Actually, that car damage modelling looks pretty cool.
06:22, Cryoburner> It's not like most recent games where cars survive high speed collisions without even a scratch.
06:45, Tacogeddon> GASP. Stellanaut LIVES!
06:51, Cryoburner> No Stella! Don't touch the Flare Facade!
06:52, Cryoburner looks on as Stellanaut is consumed by hundreds of pneumatic teeth.
06:54, Cryoburner whispers: They're multiplying...
06:58, Cryoburner> Hey Magnus!
07:02, Magnulus> Hellos.
07:08, Cryoburner> Wow... that's disturbing. :P
08:19, Magnulus> Your MUM is disturbing!
08:51, Duskesko> Oh, burn.
11:18, Cryoburner> Heh... I was referring to the latest video at www.magnulus.com :)
11:20, Cryoburner whispers: So, burn.
11:34, Megagun whispers: inate!
11:52, Ponder s> Oooohhh... It's just me and the bots now... *sniff* *sniff*
11:57, Zjc92 shows up to save the day.
14:36, Magnulus meant: chuckles* Yeah, that video IS disturbing, even to me! ^_^ Mostly just fascinating to see what my face does in slow motion, but also disturbing.
15:20, Jayde> Hm. I have a question... does the Noctis IV source code include the program Alex used to generate the galaxy? >.>
15:30, Raptorjedi> I don't think there was a specific program used to do it. I think it's all in the code itself.
15:31, Raptorjedi> Actually, I'm pretty sure it is. If you change the seed, it should make a whole new galaxy.
15:33, Jayde> Hum... 'kay. I'll have to examine the code, then... thanks, guys. ^^
15:33, Raptorjedi> Good luck with that, I hear it's in Italian :P
15:34, Jayde> The comments, anyway. I may be able to recognize the proper bits of code, though... and if not, I'll just run it through a translator or something.
15:36, Jayde> Anyway, thanks again. I'll keep you updated on the search, whether you're interested or not. :3
15:37, Raptorjedi> Heh
15:38, Jayde> I just looked at Alex's text-adventure parser, and it's ingeniously done... I suppose it's a testament to the versatility of low-level languages like l.in.oleum. :D
15:39, Jayde> yes. I'm a geek with a love for old-school games. <3 Bye, all! Thanks again, Raptor.
17:24, Dumbum> I think most people here are geeks with a love for old-school games...
18:34, Tom> How to speak fluent Japanese without saying a word: http://youtube.com/watch?v=XuFe5lqBAYE
